Seabed Minerals

The Seabed Minerals Act entered into force on 1 June 2019 and the Act shall facilitate the exploration and extraction of mineral deposits on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The Act follows the same system as the Petroleum Act and requires that an opening process be carried out before any permits or activities can be initiated. The first part of the impact assessment program for mineral activities has now started. 

Kluge follows this process and has the expertise to assist relevant actors for seabed minerals.
