Catharina assists both private and public clients within several areas of law. Her expertise is within competition law, state aid law and general EU/EEA law.
Catharina is highly experienced within all aspects of competition law, and in particular within the counseling regarding the competition law prohibitions and merger rules. She assists with competition law training and prepares compliance programs and internal guidelines for the general operations of the clients. Catharina also assists in infringement cases, including leniency cases, and under unannounced inspections carried out by the Norwegian Competition Authority and the EFTA Surveillance Authority.
Within the field of state aid law Catharina frequently assists with assessments under the state aid rules, including assessments of whether or not a measure constitutes aid and what possible modifications that has to be completed in order for the measure to be consistent with the state aid rules. Catharina also assists with the application of the various exemptions to the rules and in notification processes.
