Per Sigvald assists both public and private clients in major, complex disputes. He has substantial experience within dispute resolution and litigation, and is admitted to the Supreme Court. He has as an attorney-at-law in the Office of the Attorney General (Civil Affairs), argued a wide range of civil cases before all instances of courts, including the Supreme Court, and has contributed in mediations as well as negotiations out of courts.
Per Sigvald possesses extensive experience and in-depth knowledge within contract law. He has at the Office of the Attorney General (Civil Affairs), litigated, negotiated and advised in various contract law cases; including sale and purchase of goods, service concession and construction contracts. As a deputy judge he has managed diverse civil law cases, including contract disputes.
As legal adviser in the Ministry of Justice, Legislation Department, Per Sigvald was responsible for drafting legislation and providing advice on the laws of contract and tort. He has international experience from representing Norway in expert committees of EFTA, EU-Commission, OECD and UNCITRAL.
Per Sigvald has served as a member of several government appointed law commissions. He was a member of both the Credit Purchase Law Commission and the Audit Requirement Law Commission.
He has for many years regularly been giving lectures on contract law, company law and civil procedural law at the University of Oslo, Faculty of Law.
